‘Optimal provisions and optimal care at affordable costs'
The Federal Council wants to strengthen supervision of social health insurance, examine further possibilities to make savings and reform the health system in the medium to long term. The intended aim is to further improve quality and transparency in the Swiss health system, boost efficiency and ultimately keep costs down.
‘Securing old-age provision - safeguarding the future'
The FDHA wants to submit a new proposal which enjoys broad support to the Federal Council and parliament for the revision of old-age and survivors' insurance (AHV) by 2015 at the latest. According to recent forecasts the reforms would have to take effect from 2020 to safeguard old age and survivors' insurance for future generations.

The Federal Council wants to direct education policy firmly towards the future, bring about improvements where necessary and strengthen cooperation at all levels. Pure and applied research enable innovation, the motor is for growth and prosperity and Switzerland's competiveness in a globalised world.

‘Living and experiencing culture'
Fostering cultural diversity and facilitating access to culture are among the Federal Council's core goals. One of its approaches is to strengthen cooperation with the cantons, cities and communes by 2015 as part of a national dialogue on culture focussing on living traditions and digital culture.
