General Secretariat (GS-FDHA)

The General Secretariat is the Department’s central administrative office. It is responsible for planning, coordination and monitoring tasks and serves as a key interface between the head of the Department and the federal offices. It also coordinates resources and provides advisory services for the entire Department.

Coordination, planning and advisory services

The General Secretariat...

  • supports and advises the head of the Department in her daily work,
  • is responsible for planning and overseeing political affairs,
  • monitors the results and effects of decisions,
  • manages the overall coordination of departmental affairs,
  • provides services for the entire Department in the areas of human resources, finance, communication, logistics, IT, controlling and translation.

Specialist services in the FDHA

Federal Supervisory Authority for Foundations (FSAF)

The FSAF ensures that the foundations under its supervision use their assets in accordance with the purposes set out in their statutes.

Federal Bureau for the Equality of People with Disabilities (FBED)

The FBED promotes equality between people with and without disabilities and works to eliminate legal and systemic disadvantages.

Service for Combating Racism (SCRA)

The SCRA is responsible for preventing racism and promoting human rights. It plans, supports and coordinates activities at the federal, cantonal and communal levels.
