A total of around 3,600 people work in the General Secretariat, federal offices, specialised units and affiliated organisations.

General Secretariat (GS-FDHA)
The General Secretariat is the Department’s central administrative office. It is responsible for planning, coordination and monitoring tasks and serves as a key interface between the head of the Department and the federal offices. It also coordinates resources and provides advisory services for the entire Department.
