At the traditional New year’s reception at the Federal Palace on 11 January, President Alain Berset received representatives of the diplomatic corps in Switzerland.
On Tuesday, 7 February, President Alain Berset met with President Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi in the capital Gaborone, as part of a two-day trip to Botswana.
President Alain Berset and Federal Councillor Doris Leuthard will attend the UN climate conference being held in Katowice, Poland, from 3 to 14 December.
On Thursday, 1 November, President Berset paid a visit to Romania. The visit follows the tradition of establishing contact with the holder of the next EU Council presidency.
Pope Francis will be arriving in Switzerland on 21 June. He will be met on the part of the Swiss government by President Alain Berset and Federal Councillors Doris Leuthard and Ignazio Cassis.
