Legal guide: racial discrimination

A lack of knowledge of the law, insecurity and fears prevent many people who are affected by racial discrimination from taking legal action. The same is true of the advice centres and contact points: there are too many open questions, the outcome of proceedings is uncertain, the costs appear prohibitive and the personal stress caused is simply too great. The Online legal guide racial discrimination is designed to remove these barriers. It was drawn up by the Service for Combating Racism (SCRA) in conjunction with the Secretariat of the Federal Commission against Racism (FCR). The online guide is available in German, French and Italian.

The online guide is an extended and updated edition of the legal guide (print version), which was produced by the SCRA together with the Secretariat of the FCR and Humanrights.ch/MERS as part of a project to set up the Beratungsnetz für Rassismusopfer network of advice centres and first published in 2009.

The legal guide is available in German (PDF, 1 MB, 15.06.2009) and French (PDF, 1 MB, 21.05.2012).
