As social problems, discrimination and racism are also encountered in the
classroom and in the school playground.
Schools offer a learning environment in which the causes and consequences of racial discrimination can be tackled and countermeasures can be developed and put into practice. Along with human rights education, the prevention of discrimination and racism must be an integral part of both the school curriculum and teacher education and training.
