The aim of integration is to enable the indigenous and immigrant population to live in mutual respect and acceptance based on the values espoused in the Federal Constitution.
Regardless of whether discrimination is practised consciously or unintentionally, it stands in the way of integration. A comprehensive integration policy can only succeed if it is accompanied by resolute measures to protect against discrimination.
The specialist agencies and centres of competence that deal with integration at the cantonal and communal level are mandated to take targeted measures against discrimination and racism and to provide a range of advisory services.
